A puzzle has so many pieces.
When you first open the box and see all those loose pieces scattered before you, it's easy to become overwhelmed. Where do you begin? Which piece do you pick up first? How do you even know where each piece belongs?
You begin sorting through them, trying one piece here and another there. Sometimes, after struggling to make sense of it all, you simply gather the pieces, put them back in the box, and place it on a shelf.
Years go by. Other boxes get stacked on top of it, and eventually, it's almost forgotten.
Then one day, you discover that old box again. It's worn and torn, with holes around the edges. You carefully open it, wondering if all the pieces are even still there.
That's a little like our journey with songwriting.
For years, Bridgit and I have written poems and songs, collecting the pieces of something we didn't fully understand at the time. We had the words, the melodies, and the inspiration, but we weren't quite sure what to do with them.
Then God placed it upon our hearts to do something more with what He had given us.
So we pulled that old puzzle box off the shelf, opened it once again, and began putting the pieces together.
We don't know exactly what the finished picture will look like, or where every piece will fit. But we trust that God does.
And that is where our journey begins.
